Whilst we were slumbering in the warmth of the Castle, these two rats with furry tails were marauding in the snows beyond the Catio.
Look at him - asking for the birdies to swing the seed dispenser and rain down food on his tufty ears!Oh please, please do come closer.
Okay, it wouldn't matter as the Catio access is restricted. The door is only opened when Äiti is home and free access will only happen in warmer weather. To be honest, most of us are staying indoors anyway. Ruska is the bravest, and Äiti thinks he was responsible for the frozen half-mousie on the Catio.

I'm fascinated by the ear tufts on your Finnish squirrels. Otherwise, they could fit in with the yard rodents here in WI.
Maybe they would like to come in and....erm...."warm up" a bit?
Wow, too bad you couldn't entertain these guys in person! Good job, Ruska - or who ever is responsible for the half-mousie.
Oh! So someone got lucky? Congratulations to the mousey! Mom is a fan of Ruska, and she really likes his picture in your new calendar. We think he's indeed a very brave Finnish man, walking in the snows and protecting his family.
Äiti on the other hand... well. She really closes the door?? Pfft.
Oh, those look like they would be so much fun to watch! We think you are all wise to stay indoors when there is so much white stuff on the ground. We are curled up under fleece or in the heated cat bed!
Squirrel TV looks like a lot of fun to watch ! Purrs
Äiti should put some birdseed in the catio so Mr Squirrel will feel welcome. He might even stop for dinner next time.
We have squirrels that are quite similar here in Canada but they don't have the same great ear tufts! So cute!
You have GOT to lure one of those inside the Lounge!
those are some pretty impressive photos
Squirrels simply LIVE to torment kitties!
