Saturday Art - Fiendish Finnish Felines

Loyal Readers, I am utterly delighted to present to you our latest commission for the Castle walls. Just look at this masterpiece!
It is called Fiendish Finnish Felines' Midsummer Madness and has been created by British artist Tamsin Lord. Now this is not the usual style that we opt for but Äiti was intrigued by the representation of characters that Tamsin uses, and she decided to have some of us immortalised in this way. Originally she wanted 5 of us in the painting but just couldn't choose, so another feline slipped in!

And there is so much detail! I am of course in my senior position, at the top and with the flag of Finland by me. I am looking very much like the king I am, and feel this is a good representation of my noble self. And Mesi is looking all innocent (yeah right) and Aila is looking as stroppy and stinkeyed as she does in reality. Well captured there! Mirsku has his butt in the air while going for the sphynixie tailios, just as he does whenever he can. And Veikko is glued to the deck covered in polliwogs. And just see how much has been included that is part of our Catio world - polliwogs, Tessie, Evil Squirrel, Poo Corner, the snack dispenser, kissanminttu etc. We are amazed! Just look at the details on those wrinkly nekkids - including Seppo's hobbit toes and other furry bits, hehehehe.

As soon as Äiti saw it she loved the painting, and immediately put herself back on the waiting list for the next painting, which will be a midwinter scene.

We wish to thank Tamsin and urge you to check her Fiendish Feline site or facebook page. She is amazing at capturing our characters in such a unique style.

Oh! I get to be FIRST! This is SPECTACULAR! There are SO many things to love! Aila looks beauteous, the others look very good and YOU are just the most Handsome King EVER (even if you are poopin' out a flag, hee hee). We love Tessie and the birds and the Ebil Skwerl and everything else. Bravo!

Wow. This is really amazing!! We had a good laugh at alle the details, and are stunned. What a great artist!! And a lot of work to put this picture together. Did Äiti give all this information or did the artist read your blog and combined the details?

This could be even printed on postcards for the fan club of this blog (we sure belong there)!

Love the painting! It magnificently captures the personalities of the delightfully fiendish Finnish felines. Tamsin Lord did an amazing job. You are so fortunate to have such lovable (and loving) fur-babies. Love your blog and even though I may not post often, I enjoy your posts EVERY day. Best and warmest wishes to you from Dallas, Texas USA.

Oh wow! This is an amazing painting of a bunch of you! We love how the nekkids have been captured! So many people have trouble with all of our wrinkles, but this looks fabulous! Wonderful!

I'm the very lucky person who had the opportunity to paint 'Fiendish Finnish Felines' Midsummer Madness', and what a wonderful privilege it was too to portray Punapippuri, Mesi, Mirsku, Aila, Seppo and Veikko :D. You are such amazing characters and it was brilliant fun putting the ideas together for your Catio world, including of course Tessie, the Polliwogs and even that pesky squirrel lol!

I have painted many breeds over the years, but this was my very first Sphynx adventure and I couldn't have asked for 2 more wonderful models than Seppo and Veikko, definitely won't be the last time I paint Sphynxies :D.

This painting has been so much fun and put a great big grin on my face. Thank you so much :D, huge cuddles and purrs to all the gang - I can't wait for our next mid-winter adventure!!!
