Morning After Monday

We hope all of you who celebrate Christmas have had as good a time as we have had. Thanks to some wonderful Loyal Readers, we have a variety of toys and food which will keep us very merry. This load came from Lil'Ebba's servant - and Äiti has a cool hat too which Pekka is stood on. There were also some socks (and she loves fine woollen socks) somewhere under the pile of goodies.
Aila was desperate for food and we had to put it all back in the bag before she broke into the pouches.
She wasn't the only one eager for delicious treats.
And this treasure was from Raisu's human - Raisu is Ruska's sister and we always get fantastic food parcels from Finland(S).
Äiti was not fast enough to protect this from Jaava.
So what was it that we were going to eat ? A birdie but not a traditional one...... Well, it is ostrich! A neighbour bought Äiti some ostrich pate from her trip to South Africa, and Äiti spotted the steaks in a local supermarket.  This photo was taken quickly before the bowl was swamped! We also got to taste some of Äiti's casserole which she had for her meal.
Mesi got to lick the spoon. We were very impressed with strutsi, or kamelikurki  as the old Finnish name used to be (it means 'camel crane' - Finnish language is very imaginative sometimes eg lohikärme means 'salmon snake' - dragon; jalopeura means 'noble deer' - lion).
And my favourite presents came from my very own sweet Queen, Maggie May in the USA. No one was allowed to steal my orange ball or my cat nip gherkin. Äiti tried, and there was blood!

Wow, look at all those awesome gifts! My human says that the fast food place down the street from us used to sell ostrich burgers a long time ago, but they don't anymore. Bummer! I'd love to try ostrich.

Holy Cod, what a magnificent HAUL!!!!!!!
Another fine reason to relocate to Finland, as long as we don't actually have to leave the house, that is.
Happy Boxing Day!

What a wonderful haul of goodies you all got including Aiti. My mum has seen those same ostrich steaks and keeps intending to try them, but hasn't yet.

So are you having an Australian theme now? hehehehehehehe. K. should have brought something like that when she visited us, but all we got was some stinky jewelry (for Mom).

And please, where are all our parcels??? Nothing against your calendar, but hello?!? This is so unfair!
