We show you a new view of the kingdom today. This was taken by Äiti on a path near the back of the Castle and looks out towards the lake where eagles can lurk in warmer times. She was out on a trot (foolish woman) at midday. Yes, that really is how high the sun gets at noon! Anyway, she though the jäniksen jäljet (rabbit footprints) were worth noting!
In the meantime Pekka is keeping vigil, hoping that maybe a magical gap will appear in the Catio wire and a rabbit will pop through.

We forget sometimes how the sun gets weerder the more north it is. We get unhappy when it gets to just 12 hours a day (and we are only awake for 6 of them) .
... Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun... :P
I think that bunny is taunting you guys!
We've more daylight than you, but we're envious of the snow - to lighten up the dark hours.
It looks cold out there! We're not sure we would go out in the snow even if we had fur!
As Elmer Fudd says, "Wabbit twacks!" He couldn't say his 'r's...
Oh my goodness. Mum says she would have a hard time in a place that got so little sun and at such a low angle. She survives the winter here, but says she wishes she was rich enough to go to the southern hemisphere this time of year.
What a winter wonderland!
Now if that hare will just show up...
Maybe Aiti would cook it on an open spit on the catio for you. MOl!
did you make that enclosure in the backyard yourself? Looks great- wish i could make one for Frodo and Zulu!
