Territorial Tuesday

Yesterday, Äiti got home to an air of tension. Jaava greeted her with the floofiest tailio ever and when she looked outside she could see why. There was an Intruder on the compost heap. Mirsku was at the ready.
Seppo was backing him up big time.
The Intruder was shy and slunk away before Äiti could get good photos. He (or she) hid under the bushes and when Äiti went sneaking in to get a better look, he (or she) departed.
Now we will guard the Catio of course but we do hope this Intruder has a home. It is unusual for cats to be outside in Finland - the culture here is that cats are kept indoors as there are so many predators around, and also in winter it is fiercely cold. So Äiti will be on the look out for this Intruder. As are we - catio patrols were very active all day!

Oh dear! We hope (S)he isn't lost...but nonetheless, you had better keep an EXTRA close eye out!

I wonder what the story is behind this intruder! And I wonder how long s/he has been around, and if his/ her presence has been in part the cause of Puna's acting out. Sometimes kitties know about intruders before humans do... with our special kitty radar and all.

Yes, we think Summer may be right! The lost kitty may be the reason for Puna's behaviour. We hope the kitty gets the help he or she needs. It must be so horribly frightening to be loved one moment and the next be turned away.

Yes, please keep watch for this intruder! The cats may not like it, but you could be saving a kitty.

The nerve of that intruder! I hope it hasn't been abandoned though.

Poor kitty. I am pleased to read the most cats in Finland are indoors, so much safer.
