Monday Musings

Finally, we should now be resuming 'normal blogging'.  Äiti is feeling a bit less feeble and I am hoping I can wield my mighty paw to whap her into taking my daily dictation. I have found it hard work and have had to make many sacrifices to look after her. her I am supervising her bath yesterday. Pöh - my tailio dipped in to the water. Did she care ? No she took a photo.
But we do have several photos from our break. Here is one Äiti particularly likes as it shows 9 of us in a very small space. Why ? Well, there was a squirrel in the tree just outside. Why were some looking the wrong way ? Well Risto and Roosa were upstairs and the stink eye was being shared!
So, what has been happening ? Basically Äiti needed a break as she is 'evaluating everything' now that her inner ear is  occupied by Mr Meniere. She went back to work - nearly fulltime - and that was tough. She seems to suffer loads from 'brainfog' and feels her head is processing stuff slowly - probably because it is so busy processing information it gets and trying to keep the world still and snot spinning. She gets really thrown by changes to routine or doing things she doesn't have 4 weeks written notice about. There's something called mindfulness that seems to help. She is also trying to get fitter and has started running regularly; she did take part in the local 10km race and was very happy to finish it even though Tessie could have beaten her time. Apparently one thing that can keep Mr Meniere quiet for her is endorphins from exercise - only she mustn't over do it or she feels worse. She has confessed that looking after 14 of us, especially the felociraptors when they get going with their manic chases, is a bit tough at times and because we are her #1 priority, she feels she has to ensure that she is well for us. She says she doesn't want to be all short-tempered and hissy - like me.
Pöh.

We are SERIOUSLY impressed that so many of you sat so close outside! Its one thing ta be close inside where there is limited space, but outside? Amazing.

King P: You look like an adorable Pikku Prince there in that first picture, but I'm not seeing you in the gang below, that it was delightful to spy my Aila. And XOXOXO to her.

Or maybe I meant "BUT it was delightful . . . "

It sounds like a lot of work for Äiti to find the right balance that works for her Meniere's. I'm sending purrs her way... wish they could be endorphins instead!

You are all finding that squirrel very interesting. I am glad that Äiti is feeling less feeble and hope she will start to feel better before too much longer.

I too am a vertigo sufferer so I fully understand. Mr first serious bout took many months to overcome and then many months to recuperate from. But it finally did. I have it in both ears which is as my DR said "rare". So I try to be as careful as I can, but yes brainfog is real! Good luck!

A two ears Meniere's here also. And one cannot understand how fatiguing it can be trying to process information through the swirls and whirls. And then there's the pressure and hearing loss. Horrible. Mine has been pretty mild lately but last night I felt like I upside down again.
You are such an adorable boy Puna. Big kisses to you.

That was sweet of you to supervise her bath. You all look great in the family photo. I am impressed that Ati ran a race despite her not feeling well.

We are sending our purrs for Aiti. Mom bean has had vertigo this spring, though thankfully it is a much milder version so she has empathy for what Aiti is going through. As for the brain fog...our mom bean has had that for years...she blames it on the menopaws.

We luv the group shot! Looking good efurrybody.
