everyone who goes to a shelter knows how heartbreaking those places are, and sure enough Äiti could not avoid coming home with more additions! However she had a small flat and no garden so she only adopted 'special cases' who were indoor only cats. She was alerted to a new litter who had nearly died soon after birth as their young mother cat did not know what to do. The three kittens were slow developers and looked likely to have some sort of brain damage. Their mother owever did nurse them - here she is after 5 weeks in the cage with them.
And here is the kitten who had developed the least. Oh yes, you know who this is now!
Even at 5 weeks she gave the Bottom of Disrespect.
And as for the slow development and possible brain problems - well it was all a cunning plan - all three girl kittens grew up very nicely!

My darling sweet tiny Aila, that adorable littl---wait. What am I saying? Such a hissy LadyCat she became! And yet . . . and yet . . . She walks in beauty.... Sigh.
What a cutie she was!
Ha-ha! Clearly she was playing dumb!
Oh, I love this memory week! I've been reading the early years of this blog, and it's so interesting to see what happened before!
Aila (Islay at that time?) was such a cutie. I know, you aren't the best of friends with her, King P., but squeeeeeeeeeeeeez.
We're started laughing the minute we started reading! Those kittens knew exactly what they were doing!
Awww...such a cutie :)
