Winged Wednesday

While we slept on Monday night/Tuesday morning, the snacks were dispensed. We missed it! This is a photo of one of the adults from Monday in the daytime.
When Äiti woke up the beakies had flown far away - and there were no remains on the catio. She checked the box camera and sadly there were two little dead ones inside. She thinks it was so crowded that they may have suffocated. She buried them under the sea buckthorn bush in the afternoon, and cleaned the nest box out.
So, they have gone and we did not get anything to eat. Pöh. But if you want you can enjoy a video that Äiti put together, including some slow motion flying shots.

Oh dear! On so many levels...we would have LOVED to see the snax flutter around. Oh well, there's always next clutch, these parents seem pretty successful.

We are sad fer the dead ones. But the live ones will be around to maybe fly into windows...

I routinely watched a hummingbird nest on live streaming video. I was so disappointed I missed seeing the two babies try out their wings and fly away from the nest :(

We're sad to hear two of the tit babies didn't make it. Nature can be cruel sometimes. Is hard to know what happened those two.

A clean birdhouse means potentially a new nest with eggs to hatch and grow up!
