So yesterday was the end of the school term and very emotional as Äiti waved farewell to her class who finished their last year. She came home and sat for a cup of tea - which is her answer to everything - and opened the presents and cards she was given. And then we saw something very unusual - she got all teary! Just look at what one of her students got her: a little statue of an angel hugging a cat. Normally she is not such a soppy mare, but this just got to her - it really touched her. Her class knew her well and she will miss them. Bizarre, wethinks!
In the meantime we have been watching the hatchling snackies and counting open beaks. EIGHT of them! Now Äiti says it is not likely eight will ripen up but we can hope........

That was a well thought out gifty by her student. Eight snacks for 13 cats?
Our Mommy has the same statue...apparently crazy cat women are alike...HER Mom gave it to her!
Well done. Äiti!
And the snax look DIVINE.
What a thoughtful and nice gift!! It's sometimes really hard to say goodbye, even if it means that your summer vacation starts!
Hm, Just Ducky - 8 birds for 13 cats? I thought all were for King P anyway?
Awww, Aiti is going all squishy soft inside! And you know what? My Human has that statue too!!! Also, leave the birdies alone, King P!
Well, OK, we allow some soppiness fer that...
What a sweet gift from Äiti's students! I am quite excited about the birdie farm.
A lovely gift. Wishing all the students well at university or whatever their choice is.
Happy summer, Aiti!
Wow, that is a LOT of baby birds. A big job for their Mama to fill those hungry tummies.
What an adorable gift! Everything is better with kitties on it!
We can always hope all eight of those babies grow up. Maybe your Aiti will "help" Momma Bird find food :)
That is a furry sweet gift!
AND those snax will be a great gift for your kitties too, MOL
Sasha, Sami, & Saku
That is a lovely and thoughtful gift from the students.
There will be great fun when the hatchlings are big enough for flying lessons.
That is a very thoughtful gift.
