It's not too long ago that this monochromatic scene faced us beyond the catio. As you can see, there's a snack dispenser in the apple tree. Not that you can see it's an apple tree of course.
Well, it may be fruiting sooner than expected. The nest box contains a camera, rigged up to the tv indoors (with sound!). And some Mrs Great Tits (talitiainen) has laid some eggs.
So we expect hatching to take place in about two weeks, followed by a few exciting weeks of watching the fledglings grow fat and juicy. We anticipate they will pop out of the nest box at about the end of June. Watch this space - we certainly will be!

Sounds tasty! The blackbirds make their nest in the Leylandii hedge which I can climb up. You would think they would learn.
