So, we have been most excellent hosts and allowed Mom Trish to not just feed us, but to cook for us. She has taught Äiti a most important process - jerkifying. Here she allows Sampo to inspect the poaching of finest Finnish chicken breasts.
I had to check it out too - notice how much braver I am than him!The meaty lumps were then sliced and placed in a dehydrator. Mesi licks her lips but cannot break into the plastic prison which stores the most succulent morsels. The dehydrator was left on overnight in a room which was locked away from us. We felt this was monstrous but in the morning we could see why. Some things, kitties are worth waiting for! We are definitely of the 'two marshmallows later' viewpoint (Oh yeah ? Äiti).
So, the next day we had delicious jerky! Aila even forgot to be a niggly whinging girlcat.
And look at this empty tray. Yes it had been full, hehehehehe. And you know, these jerky bits are so good for our teefs - we need more! And more. Oh yes, Äiti is now under instruction to do the often.
So, we are sorry if the Katnip Loungers are spitting blood and sharpening claws in jealousy. Well, actually we're not so sorry as we know we are safely 7900km away (yes, we checked).

We are real big on poached chickie-breasts, but not so much about drying them all out. We like our foods wettish.
5000 measley miles? They're starting out tonight. Expect 'em next week.
I love those too! They are SOOOO yummy!
If we didn't hate the car (and indeed any form of travel) you would feel our wrath!
After a nice chikkun snack, of course...
... don't feel safe. I feel sorry for Team Lounger, and I'm working on a solution. Maybe a new reality TV concept would fly in the loungers?
Kajsa and Tessa are wondering if Mom Trish will visit Helsinki again on her way home. They told me that they just want to get to know you, but I'm afraid they mean your cooking skills.
Sampo looked like he was afraid that the Lounge Mommy would shove him in the stock pot. MOL!
That looks delish, kittehz. Enjoy!
(And make sure Aiti took notes.)
It looks very delicious. Sampo looks very interested, but I bet Mom Trish would never get Scouty that close to the pot! King P, you almost look as if you want to go in after the cooking delicacies.
It looks very yummy ! Mum Trish is learning a lot of great recipes for you, friends of Katnip Lounge, don't be too jealous ! Purrs
If Mesi is half as adorable as she appears on your blog, she's absolutely out of this world adorable.
Goodness what a doll!
Sounds like there are lots of good times being has. And they include noms too.....::swoon::
Wow, your own home made treats. I should have mum check into that.
whoa...you guys must have done a 'google' search for that distance. And Mom Trish must share that recipe
