Operation 'Operation Prepare'

As Loyal Readers might be aware, we are eagerly anticipating a visit from the Screechy Lady from the Katnip Lounge (in exactly a week!). She is coming to look after us while Äiti recovers from surgery - she is having a pound or two of flesh removed as her weightloss (which equals the combined mass of all of us we figure) has left her with nasty saggy tummy skin. So as you can imagine there are huge plans in place to make the Castle fit for Mom Trish (well, we say why bother - after all she knows what 13 cats are capable of?), and also for Äiti to be able to cope with stuff post-op. So, we are currently suffering loads of cleaning, depeeing (no chance!) and the latest part of Operation 'Operation Prepare' - now to be known as OOP - is putting up the catio shelves.
This is being done a little earlier than usual. I inspected the bbq.
I also sniffed around areas that had been hidden by tarps - you never know when there's a mousie lurking.
After it was done. Aila came out to sniff the air.
In fact, nine of us were there. Yes, we were bribed with treats.
Aila was her usual cooperative self. Poor Ruska had to protect his stash.
And then little Mesi charged cross the snowy wastes.
I joined her: birdwatching was in order.
And speaking of birds, Äiti saw her first swans of the year. The boys and girls are returning, and summer will not be far off!

oooooh!!! If you guys are nice and purry, maybe the Screechy Lady will roast a chikkun on the BBQ! Nommy. We so love seeing group photos, especially knowing there were treats involved!

Wow! Look at how close it is to real un-snowy Springtime! We love seeing the nice picture of that Hissy Aila and the sweet rear-view of LPB.

Of course it is only the manliest of mancats that are allowed for grill inspection. Good job, King P.

We can't believe you still have snow. It's gonna be a balmy 80 degrees (F) here tomorrow. Oh boy!

Happy Tuesday, sweet furriends.
XOXO

It's great that you've somebody to help you after your operation! And yes, spring will come eventually. I tend to think every year that this year we'll go directly from winter to autumn, but I try to be optimistic.

Everything you be in tip top shape with all of you helping to get it all ready. I think there will be lots more treats when the Screechy Lady arrives. A lot of flashy box too I would think.

We lubbed the picture of so many of you! And the mom bean went all goofy over the swan. She like bird watching too.

Have fun with Mom Trish! Be careful, she appawently likes to chase kitties with flashy boxes. It could get a little furrightening for you!
