Machiavellian Monday

So yesterday morning we tried really hard to trap Mom Trish. Sampo had been observing her over the visit and knew that she has developed an addiction for delicious Finnish pulla.  So, at breakfast, he thought that if he could eat her pulla, then she would be too hungry to travel back home.
I decided I should join in and also try to distract her from her cup of tea. Yes, Katnip Loungers, be prepared for a big change! Your Mom has gone all English and is drinking builder's tea with milk! She has beem cursing Äiti for that (my goodness, she has a rich vocabulary, doesn't she?).
Now, our little ploy did not work so we had to send in the heavy mob. Dubbed 'the biggest cat she has ever seen', Mirsku went in with stealth. On his back, of course, he could allow a tummy tickle and lull MomTrish into a sense of security.
Then he viciously clamped his paws to her in order to weigh her down so she could never move.
But he was then too tempted by her spanking prowess. That cat is a tart!
As his tailio was tugged he remembered his priorities.
So decided that a swift bitey might delay her departure - the waiting times at our Finnish hospital emergency services are pretty long!
But alas it was not to be and she left us alone with Äiti. Now we have been dutifully nursing her and her recovery is going well.  And she is going to take it easy. She made Mom Trish sort everything for us. See that huge pile of soil sacks which were most kindly delivered by our neighbour (honestly, Äiti has got everyone running after her)......
She realised the pile was blocking our view of mousewatch so Mom Trish got a work out shifting them. Note Äiti just stands around lazily - not even scritching us.

Now we promised to announce a winner in the 'what is it ?' competition from last week. This prompted me to exert my Royal Powers. Young Summer was first - we were shocked by that: clearly she learns some things at cat shows which she should not really know about! And then there was an anonymous comment from a Finnish Loyal Reader who was most accurate. The patriot in me said there could be no other winner. Äiti pointed out that was hardly random and also that Flynn should also be considered, especially as he represents the Brits. So the solution ? THREE WINNERS! This is a good outcome. Summer and Flynn, Äiti will send out the crocheted chromosome case, and can our Finnish Loyal Reader please email Äiti with your identity and address if you wish to be a recipient of our donation!

Well, you kitties did your darndest to keep the Katnip Lounge human home with you, even if it did not work. How awesome that I get a sperm for myself - and I don't have to deal with all the other stuff girlkitties usually have to do (the feline mating ritual is positively barb-aric, if you know what I mean!).

Kittehz, (Mirsku) you did your best by doing your worst to Mom Trish, but alas, she left. We're certain you kept a piece of her heart there in Finland (N).
Now, we need to know more about these pulla things....

You all tried very hard to keep Trish with you. I wonder if there may be another visit sometime in the future.
I am so excited to win my very own sperm!

At least you did your best to keep your second servant around.

Mum sometimes drinks tea with milk too. Seems she has a good furiend who lives in the West Indies.
