Treesday

In Finland(N) there are many, many trees so Äiti has taken on the Finnish tradition of having joulukuusi in the house for Christmas. I have always enjoyed this, especially as our presents are put under it. First she clears a space, and I went to have a sniff of Tessie-kilpikonna who was sleeping peacefully under the book shelves.
The tree was brought in, in its net.
Äiti removed the netting. As you can see she is dressed smartly for the occasion - not! Notice Seppo in the scratching barrel; he is looking away in disgust.
It takes a while for the branches to unfold so there was plenty of sniffing around while this happened.
Äiti moved the chair back, with a new cover on it: orange so it suited my fur! Mirsku tried to usurp my throne so I gave him my most dissatisfied stare. It worked - his ears went back and eventually he retreated.
Later however he grabbed my spot when the few feeble lights were added. Sampo and Seppo inspected them. And do you see the big 'Paulig' box ? That has come for US from Finland (S) from Ruska's sister Raisu. We have to wait until Christmas itself to pen it though. Pöh.
And now we have an update on Mesi: she has done very well and came home safely last night. Äiti made a little sling and carried her around while she was still sleeping - like in this photo. We'll have more photos soon and thank you for your good wishes.

I think that tree looks like fun! I'm glad Mesi is getting such good post-op care! My human did not carry me around. Well, she did but only a little.

Glad to hear Mesi is home. Being close to Aiti was probably very soothing for her. Poor little girl; Santa needs to bring her something very special for her recovery. Now, extra treats wouldn't be a bad idea. Some nice protein, for healing, might be in order.

Nice tree! We has never seen a real live dead tree in our house, the mom bean says she does not like the needles. Do you kitties chew on it sometimes? Or are you well-behaved? MOL

We is happy to hear Mesi is doing well. She must have enjoyed having a close snuggle with Aiti!
