Boxing Day

On Christmas Eve evening, Äiti went outside (locking herself out, but that's another story, hehehehe) and saw - for the first time in many months - the revontulet, our beloved northern lights. Now she felt very reassured as these lights have a special meaning to us: they are the tails of those at the Rainbow Bridge, lighting up the sky as they play. Stran was letting us know all is well. And there have been some very special kitties who have left us who are up there too now and we remembered them to as the display went on. We think Zoe, Vilperi and Orbit - three kitties who really touched our hearts this year - are up there with Stran.
Now yesterday we got down to the serious business of presents! From Ruska's sister Raisu and her human, our gummi in Finland (S) a HUGE box arrived. I was on to it immediately.
And Mesi was into it!
And Seppo was trying too - he was after the present for Äiti: bath bombs! Or maybe he does like his baths afterall, hehehehe.
But look at this stash! Result! There were puches and bags of dried food, and toys - including a special mousie which moves. Oh joy! And Ruska has two special tins of food just for him. We were delighted, and very grateful.
And speaking of food, well, Äiti cooked up the turkey yesterday. And it had giblets! Here I am sampling the heart.
Seppo came along quickly and wanted to join in.
Risto stuck his tongue out at it- he was not keen.
Roosa had a sniff but did not eat it.
Lewis was very shy too.
The turkey hearts were not so yummy as the flesh and we feasted well. It's okay, Äiti you can sign off now as I wish to sleep it all off.
In fact, we all wish to sleep it off.

Do you know, my human LOVES turkey hearts! When she was a kid, she always asked for it, and the poor kitties she grew up with never got to try it!

The revontulet is beautiful. We have felt Eric close by the last 2 days and now we know he was in that display to try and help me get better.
That is a wonderful package of goodies, and a great box too.

We knew Stran would show himself to be near! He gave Aiti a sign that she would recognize as being from him. What a truly wonderful Christmas gift.
