Monday Massacre

Autumn is here and our summer harvest is nearly over. In fact, the garden is looking a little sad and wilted. So yesterday Äiti decided to do the annual hedge trim and tidy up. Here's our view before the massacre....
....and after. There are still some pots - with kale in. She is still growing parsley too and hoping the brussel sprouts might produce something edible. She has, overall, been very pleased with the results this summer and will think about some permanent beds for next year.  She also hopes the kissanminttu might survive the winter too - or she will grow some from seed again next year for us.
In the meantime, we are enjoying the open panorama, and fact she has added seeds to one of the bird feeders. So maybe they'll share the joy and feed us!
Mesi found the only surviving flower to sniff: Little Princess Buttercup indeed.
And then found an innocent mancat to chase.

We were very impressed with your first garden! You did a lot of cleaning up this weekend, too.

What, tree is in the upper left corner that has red fruit in it? Mommy is quite curious.

Adorable Mesi, that pic of you with the flower is precious. But, we like a kitteh with a little "fire" in her, too!

Everything looks nice and tidy now for the winter. It is very satisfying to grow your own vegetables. Mum has grown some swedes and they had the first one yesterday and were very pleased with it. She grew them last year but they were rather pathetic. She is sad the tomatoes are almost finished. Bought ones are nothing like home grown.
That is a cute picture of Mesi and the flower and even cuter of her chasing a poor unsuspecting mancat.
