Gardening Miscellany

Beyond the catio, summer has burst into action. Although there are plenty of birds around, neither of our snack dispensers have passed the inspection test of those fussy feathered pairs, and both nest boxes are empty. Pöh.
The apple tree is in full blossom.
And Äiti is optimistically planting stuff. We hate to dampen her enthusiasm so we politely inspect everything and make reassuring noises. This is a tyrni bush, which is sea buckthorn in English. Now Äiti adores their berries but they will only produce if there are boy and girl plants. Now we thought plants were plants and just did their stuff alone, but apparently they might need to have wild plant sex. We will keep an eye on the garden for this adventure and hope it is not too noisy.  Äiti does not know if she has boy or girl berry bushes yet - she bought three as she figured the chance of getting them all the same were not so high as if she just bought two. We shall see!
Now this is the sort of thing we think should be growing from the flower pots, and is 100% mancat. You cannot get this at a garden centre.

Optimism appears to be a major feature of gardening…

Heh-heh, too bad there will be no "seedlings" from the last plant, as Mommy would love to have some!

We so enjoyed seeing Stran's fluffy bellah this weekend on the CB calendar. Mommy snorgled it daily.

Have a great day!
XOXO

Our mom bean is salivating over the last plant. We is just as happy to know there is no way to transplant Stran!

Good luck in the garden! We hopes the birdies get less fussy soon. They'd make a pawsome snack, MOL
