Each year Äiti attempts to grow kissanminttu. The plants do not survive the winter so they have to be grown from seed. This year the grand total of three seedlings have survived Äiti's ridiculously inept horticultural skills. Jura shows he has more of a green paw than she does.
He is tending to the seedlings as best he can - and very soon Äiti moved them out of his reach. So now we shall have to make sure they are well watered......

We are lucky - the climate here in southern California works well for catnip and my plants generally manage to grow in spite of my human's black thumb. This bone dry winter was not kind to them, though - I only have a few sprigs left in my planter, and I'm hoping that they will get growing again soon!
So close, yet so very far away!
Heh-heh.
We are impressed with Aiti's attempts. Kudos to her!
Have a great Friday!
XOXO
Kiltti äiti kun kissanminttua kasvattaa!
We purr to the dirt an ours grows back each year. TBT says we have nothing ta do with that, but WE sure arent gonna stop purrin at those spots...
Mum bought the wrong sort. It is catmint and not catnip and does nothing for me. It comes back like a forest every year. At least the butterflies like it. Maybe one day she will buy the right variety.
We will purr to Cod that they flourish in the Finnish soil!
We hopes this attempt succeeds. At least she tries!
