Joulupuu on rakenettu - the Christmas tree is up!

One of the luxuries which Äiti indulges herself with, is a real Christmas tree or joulukuusi. She never had one as a child and thinks the smell is magical. This year is the first experience of joulukuusi for the youngest kits and even I was excited to see it. Sampo had a sniff.
And he decided there was no need for lights - his eyes would do the job perfectly.
But Äiti put up the blue and white light strings and shut the other lights off. It looked very pretty, and amazingly the lights are still working 24 hours later!

We've all been very polite and not destroyed anything. Seppo is standing on top of his very own Sphynxie 'Secret Santa' parcel. And the biggest box is from our buddy Spitty the Kitty. Despite the fact he still has itchy paws for the crown of Finland (South) - which I will protect fiercely - he is a good pal.

And I do not mind that Seppo has his own parcel as there is a brown envelope there with my name on it from my very own Maggie May. I was sniffing it and rubbing my chinny on it last night.
We've also got boxes from Pelle and Maja from Ruotsi and the Poupounette Chans in France, and also Ruska, Risto and Roosa's gummitäti from Finland (South), and friends in Muhos. What a Christmas!

Your tree is marvelous! Äiti is either foolish or brave...or both...to erect such an item in your house, we think..And all your pressies! How can you WAIT?

We don't have a tree, and I have NO idea where our presents are! I am beginning to get worried, like maybe my human didn't get me any this year!!

We think Aiti is very brave also. Princeton would down a tree in two shakes of a kitteh's tail. MOL!

What wonderful bounty under your tree, too! Enjoy!

You are being very good to not tear into your presents! I'm sure I couldn't do that.

Your tree is pretty. Mum has an artificial tree because I pee on trees outdoors, and she thinks I might forget myself if we have a real one. You all have lots of presents to open.

We love your tree! Nothing like the scent of a freshly cut pine/fur.
We have to put our tree on the porch as we are quite the group of vandals!

We love your tree! We've never had or seen a real one.

We've lurked for ages, haven't been commenting, but we wanted to stop by and wish you all a wonderful holiday, a very merry Christmas. We hope your celebration is joy-full and filled with an abundance of love...and treats!

Purrs and peace,
Nicki and Derry

That's a beautiful tree. There is nothing quite like a big, real tree!

That's quite a haul you have there! We have decided to wait until Christmas to open our presents too.
