Remember, remember, the 5th of November

The Britcats remember the day all too well - they all hated it. And what seemed like the months before and afterwards when there would be fireworks going off in the streets every night. Lewis in particular would get really spooked.
Aila was a little more relaxed, as she always had had Äiti there to protect her.
And we have no idea what Stran had to endure, as he lived on the streets of a not very pleasant area of Bristol for the first part of his life (as the air gun pellet removed from his tummy proved).
Now we are all safe, so all you loyal English readers, hug your kitties and keep them safe while the skies are loud with rockets celebrating Guy Fawkes' failed treason.

Surely there must be some exciting Finnish holiday when fires are started & things blown up?

We hope all of that stuff is just a waning memory with the Britcats!

Gah! That sounds like a really obnoxious holiday! Why do humans like loud stuff so much?

If the weather in England is anything like it is here, Guy Fawkes' day is going to be a bit of a wash-ou this year…

I am lucky because we don't have houses near us. There is always a big display in the village on the other side of the river which is probably a bit more than half a mile as the crow flies (12 miles by road). As soon as Eric heard the fireworks start, he would get in the window to watch and would stay there until it was over. He liked to watch lightning too. Flynn makes a beeline for the bed and hides under the covers.
