Sunday Showdown

Loyal readers, I write this under sufferance and the strict supervision of Äiti. She has pointed out that my blog is a historical record of the great events of Finland (North) and therefore I cannot just forget about the stuff that doesn't quite suit me. Pöh.
Yesterday Äiti did a little bit of garden tidying and discovered a nip plant in a pot, which she rapidly placed on the catio. It was quickly investigated. Now the fresh nip may have fueled the tense atmosphere. Just saying.
Now while the plant was being mashed, I was upstairs by the balcony door. Risto puoli-häntä was on the balcony.  Äiti came upstairs because the little boy was whining. Just as she entered the room she saw me make a mighty leap up to him on the cat tree and we tumbled together to the floor, tussling. And it was a mighty tussle. Äiti stood back, realising that she would get injured if she interfered. Unfortunately we ended up rolling in a litter tray, which was a little undignified, admittedly. Well, the result was that I high tailed it away while the Half-tail chased me into the room, fluffed up like a toy poodle (Äiti's note: you mean you ran away in defeat and he triumphantly dashed after you with a hugely exaggerated tail). Now at that point the burmese were sat staring at him, ears back and he realised that maybe he should stop before he got in more trouble. Not that the ninjas would fight - they were merely intrigued. Then, of all things, Äiti picked him up for a cuddle. She wiped up the blood that was pouring from the huge scratch I gave him (a small nick above his eye) and put him in the sauna to calm down. He of course got loads of snuggles from her.  I went downstairs hissing at anycat who looked at me. I can sometimes be a little stroppy when things do not go my way. And at that point Ruska jumped on me! I mean, what had I done ? That Muhos Gang clearly stick together. Now, no one wants to mess with Ruska - he's a 7.5kg monster, so I dashed back upstairs at warp speed, and did what any sensible mancat would do - went under the bed. This was really crazy as Ruska has never shown any hostility to anycat before. However I was pursued by the angry panther, who was followed by Stran and Jura. And Äiti. Äiti found us all under the bed with a lot of growling. But I felt safe as Stran was sat right by me. Ruska snuck off and there was no further aggression - especially when a load of treats was thrown on the floor. We ate together harmoniously. And Risto was bought some tasty chicken wet food and given loads more cuddles. Not that the Half-tail deserved them!
I spent the rest of the day sleeping in my new soft  baggy jumper beddy. Äiti is on a diet and there's loads of slobby old clothes she intends to convert to cat beds and blankets for us.
Risto stayed in the sauna. As you can see he is a little worse for wear.
Yes, you can see the scratches my mighty claws inflicted. Äiti says I lost the fight, but I gave it my best . (You also started the fight for no obvious reason - you had NOT been on the nip!)
Now there is a slight problem that I have a hurty back left paw. Äiti was really worried when she saw me limping as she has nightmares about my naughty kneecap, but this was the other leg. Apparently we will both have antibiotic jabs.
Now Äiti says this was an unprovoked attack - I merely say I was asserting my natural position. There's something about Risto that just winds up Pekka and me. It is also possible that it has something to do with pikku prinssi and the fact that there are more mancat hormones raging. Afterall, if you check this view of him you can hardly fail to notice his glowing orbs. I think I shall blame him - it is most convenient.

I hope everything is better with the addition of treats and a couple of antibiotic jabs!

We kitties always have a reason for our disagreements, but it is not always obvious to humans.

If he were allowed to speak publicly on this most regrettable incident, we wonder what Risto might have to say for himself and his role in this unfortunate brouhaha?

Impressive, Sampo! Nations have gone to war for lesser orbs. MOL!

We hope everybody is feeling better soon. Sending get well smooches from all of us. >>SMOOCH<<

Thank Cod for Stran, the U.N. envoy, for restoring peace. We hope Aiti will reward him with extra treats and cuddles.

Well, well, WELL! Quite the goings-on in Oulu this weekend! Kudos to Stran, as always. Interesting to try to blame PP for it all, but perhaps a tad far-fetched. Hmmmm???????

Calming Purrs,
