Paws on Thursday

Now Jura-ninja has learnt a valuable lesson from his catio antics: do not mess with wasps!  Äiti heard him yell (he is a silent type usually) and saw a  mighty high leap in the air. Then, his left front paw swelled up and was huge! He had been stung.
Now we are pleased to report that after a swift phone call to ystävämme eläinlääkäri (where would we be without her this week?), the correct medicine was administered and Jura was fine. He felt a bit sorry for himself but took it like a brave mancat.
Now, on that subject, my naughty kneecap is doing fine! I horrified Äiti yesterday by climbing into one of our 'dunks'.  Oh yes, I was feeling fine. it was a good palce for a nap.
This involved climbing a magnificent floor-to-ceiling pole and then looking down on the kingdom from above human head height. She was really worried about me getting down so she put cushions on the sofa underneath so there would be a soft landing for me.  As if I needed it !
I thank you all, loyal readers, for your support and good wishes for my pixellated or luxipillated potatotella as some of you described it; perhaps you are not destined for careers in medicine. I am happy to report my luxated patella seems to be staying in its rightful place. I am limping only a little. And I have taken notice and kept away from Risto Puoli-häntä too.

I bet that sting really hurt! I am sending purrs to Jura so that it heals up quickly - and purrs to you too, Puna. But really, you should go easy on that knee. Not that you will listen to anyone!

Poor Jura!! Once, when the Human was just a little slip of a girl--yes, truly, once upon a time, she was!--she stepped on a bee and OUCH! And that was just a BEE not a WASP. Poor Jura. I am glad to hear he was brave. Perhaps he has sisu?

It's luxurious patella, right? The only kind fit for a KING?

We do feel a little sorry for Jura. None of us has ever been bitten by a wasp but it happened once to Tommy and he says it was very painful.

Poor Jura, I feel for you. I once stood on a wasp in the fields and I didn't know what had attacked me. I hissed and hissed and ran all the way home.
I am glad your patella is doing well Puna.

Maxwell: HOLY CAT Jura! This is why I, as a wise and Sensible mancat, have decided to stay inside. (mom: um, no actually, you don't go out because you're deaf and because you're a slippery little guy who I fear may run away.)
Maxwell: don't mind her.

Faraday: Jura, um, that looks kinda painful. Did it HURT??
