Fraught Friday

Yesterday there was a Big Fight. It was awful. Fur flew and blood dripped. Äiti was in the sauna when she heard a huge fuss in the next room. She leapt out and found Pekka and Mirsku and Stran in a claws-out frenzy with each other, and Risto as puffed up as a huge great, erm, puffy thing, up high on a cat tree.
Here's a picture of Pekka earlier, staring meanly at Risto up on the balcony upstairs. We mancats keep an eye out!
So what of the fight ? Our hero Stran was the source of the blood - he had a bad nose scratch. Risto also had an ear scratch. They stopped when Äiti appeared and Mirsku backed away but Stran was still cross with Pekka. Äiti managed to pick up Stran - who hissed at her - and put him in the bathroom before trying to deal with the young ginger mancat. Mirsku was fine - he had just got involved because there was a tussle (Äiti thinks). Pekka however would not stop from sneaking up to Risto - even cushions, curtains and the water spray would not stop him. He leapt at Risto, and in the confusion Risto managed to get to the balcony and some sanctuary. In the meantime, I was a very brave king and began licking up the drops of Stran's blood from the floor. And then Äiti went to put some clothes on!
Äiti looked after Stran - who did not want his cut washed at all - and gave him extra food and lots of soothing words. Pekka was slinking around guiltily, and Risto calmed himself on the balcony. Äiti says it's because we young mancats bully Risto-puolihäntä and Stran came to sort out Pekka and Mirsku as he does not want this trouble. However Stran is old and not so strong as he used to be, so Äiti is worried about what happens to his standing in the hierarchy. But it takes quite a hero to fight with Mirsku and Pekka at the same time. And just 30 minutes later Stran was playing like a kitten with his favourite string toy.

Pekka does look mean! Poor Risto! Poor Stran! And shame on Mirsku for just wanting in on the action.

Where was Miss Jaava is what I want to know, she of the airplane ears and mean eyes???

With all those -full of adrenaline- man cats around, one must expect blood fights from time to time. Fortunately, they only last minutes. Sending our love to Stran and Risto.

Hey PPP!

Nou hätä we finnish cat used to said. So, no problems... Mancats have to fight sometimes. They think that we girlcats like to see how brave they are. Pöh. Stupid mancats, they cannot understand that fighting looks silly. I can remember how my old, deceased brother used to fight alltime he had chance. Even when he was 15 years old.

So, let the boys play... after that there will be peace in Your Kingdom.

With so many kitties of varying ages and life stages, sometimes it is difficult to keep the peace! I hope everyone calms down soon and things get back to normal. Just a thought - when a cat is not well, sometimes one of the others get scrappy about it. We aren't exactly known for our empathy, but that is the way it is. So keep an eye on any cat who is being picked on that wasn't previously.

Not good at all. Peace, guys. The last thing you need is to end up rushed to the vet because of injuries from fighting.

We hate fights! Poor Stran- man! And Risto! No kitty should have to live constantly hunted. What's with Pekka??? Sheesh! Might he be an incomplete neuter with some retained tissue that makes him behave more like a tom?
