Feel Good Friday

But Friday's always 'feel good', so what's with this tautologous title ? Well, Äiti has had an idea of which I whole-heartedly approve. We want to celebrate stuff. We want some joy! We want to show how fantastic life is. So Äiti has said we should post something special on Fridays to make everyone feel good. She has also said I should think of my audience of loyal readers, and not just stuff that pleases me, King Kitty Cat of Finland (North), Sovereign of the SubArctic and Guardian of the Golden Glacier. Pah! Now this is my blog, so I could perhaps take issue with this, but let's face it - Äiti can open the food packs and I cannot, so I shall play along.
Today's Feel Good features Risto.
And this is Risto on Äiti, on the bed, getting scritches.
Loyal readers will already be cheering. Let me explain more: the bed was Tuomo's territory and has been respectfully empty. Risto hangs around almost exclusively on the shelves above the stairs with sister Roosa, and neither is adventurous. And we do hiss and stare at them a bit. However Risto loves cuddles so Äiti has kidnapped him into the bedroom for night time tickles before he slinks off to a nearby cat bed. In fact two nights ago he didn't do this until 4am so maybe he will be the new furry pillow hugger! Äiti gets her Cat Belly Therapy  (essential for fighting the Black Dog) and Risto gets his much needed scritches. Win win.
And actually the rest of us mancats get to practice mean and moody jealous stares but apparently I am not allowed to write that as it is Friday. So what I am allowed to say is that in the middle of the night Risto is starting to come onto the bed of his own accord.  And I have to admit, even I cheer at this confidence!

Oh my, The Human is all a-squee over this beautiful BoyCat. She would like to have him in *her* bed, I'll tell you that!

We approve of your Feel-Good Furiday. I expect it will make a nice companion piece to my Furrari Furiday (which alas will not start till next week).

Who wouldn't love a handsome Risto in their bed and on their belly? Absolutely nothing better than kitteh rubs last thing at night!

My Mommy is quite jealous as me stands guard over the snuggles with her. Me makes sure that Kozmo does not gets the chance. Mommy is not fond of this as me sticks my razor sharp claw tips in her neck! She would welcome Risto!

PS we had sun AFTER Mommy was done work! THIS WAS MARVELOUS! This means the sun is over the mountain and spring is around the corner - take that black dog!

Yes, the humans sure do love the night cuddles. I allow Rumblemum to snuggle me at night, but only if she's been REALLY good. Hammy usually goes for daddy cuddles but he too loves to cuddle Rumblemum when I'm not there.

Three Cheers for Risto!!! The coming to bed of the shy ones is always grounds for much cheering. Sei-Chan is our scaredy-girlcat but she just loves to be on #1's bed!

well I know you made my sisfur Suzie feel good all over, imagining those head rubs that she waits on the bed for all the live-long day...but me? i just had to run away from the computer screen to get a safe distance from all those grabby human hands. more like "Feel Freak-ed Out Friday" if you ask me...but Risto looks happy. maybe he and Suzie could become pen-pals.

Oh, my mom knows all too well the sadness of an empty pillow when one crosses the bridge. Every cat over the years has had their own place on the bed - some cuddle, some just occupy space, but they are the most missed at bedtime. At our house, the bed is the 'neutral zone'. It's the only area where we can all co-exist (mostly) peacefully. We're happy that Risto is taking up the task of nighttime cuddles - he's well suited for the job!

Love, Zoe

We see that Äiti is an EXCELLENT scruff scritcher...no wonder Risto is helpless to resist! Mommy wonders how wonderful all that white fur smells. SHE says each color has it's own scent.

Say, can we see how big the Golden Glacier is? Inquiring minds...

Kittie cuddles are good for keeping the black dog away.
