Warmer times Wednesday

We miss the sunshine, and also we miss Tessie-kilpikonna. She is deep asleep under our bookshelves, next to Harris-veli's secret cat bed.  She has already been asleep for two months, which is quite long for her. Normally she gets up after a month or two for a little wander and maybe a bite to eat. But she is dreaming of sunlight and voikukkaa (dandelions).
And it has to be said, so are we!

By the way, we would like to reassure all loyal readers that we have plenty of inside 'facilities' - some official litter boxes and others not - much to Äiti's displeasure. However, given the chance of a widdle outside, or digging away at Poo Corner some of us will take the opportunity of a lightning dash out when the catio is open. After all, we have a golden glacier to start up. This includes the near naked ninjas. When the temperature is below about -10'C and there's no sunshine, then none of us wants to go outside - even the burmese nutter balls.

We hope Tessie wakes up for some Catmas parsley! Which is a whole new holiday tradition that we just made up.

Say, is that black dog still hanging around? We hope he's gone for good.

Um, I hesitate to broach such a delicate topic, but how would you know if Tessie wasn't just, uh, sleeping? I mean, I'm sure that's what she's doing, all right, but just hypothetically. Inquiring minds, you know. And since she's all squirreled away under the shelving and all. Does Harris-veli check up on her while he's in his secret bed? She really does look kinda sweet there, munching away.

"Widdle"? Oh we love that one. We want to "widdle" all outside. And catch the mousies when THEY come out to widdle.

Oh, sorry to hear that we do share the problem with that white cold stuff. I do not set a paw outside untill it´s gone! Getting bored! Unhappy and grumpy and even my mum got a smack with the paw the other nigth cos there still is no summer outside. Have been looking throug every window and outside every door.*sigh* Best to take a nap!

Those were warmer times! We too miss the warmer days and yes, even the dandelions. (even though we've no tortoise to eat them) Stay warm and cozy, our Finnish furriends. XOXO

I never thought you kitties DIDN'T have indoor facilities - I mean, how could you not?

Tessie has been hibernating for two months? And I thought us kitties had the upper paw on napping!

You are very brave in your use of the great outdoors. We just stand over #1 and insist she cleans the (6) litterboxes endlessly...

We were wondering about the boxes because our mum was thinking of taking our " innies" away because we don't use them. We want to go out to our catio! Now, we hate cold, Absolutely hate it! But we will use the catio box on the coldest of days! Either that or "freestyle" indoors, which we sometimes do anyway. Mum always says the best way to keep a cat from peeing in a certain spot is to put a litter box there. We love our litter as long as it's on our catio. We copied Katnip Lounge and did the small pool thing.
If Tessie sleeps too long, well you intervene in any way?

Tessie's long nap sounds very restful. She is like a Turtle Van Winkle.

Oh I wouldnt go out to the loo in those temperatures. Keep warm inside. Mum had a tortoise when she was a girl that slept all the winter in a box full of sawdust and newspaper.. Hugs GJ xx
