Thoughtful Thursday

We thank you for your kind words of condolence, loyal readers, both on the blog and on facebook. We are most touched particularly by the number of comments suomeksi - we know it is not easy to comment and we are very proud that Tuomo inspired so many kind words.
Yesterday we spent quiet time with Äiti. As the sunset we knew someone was missing and felt a little strange. Stran-veli sat with Äiti for a long time. She gave us lots of attention and treats, and we played a little with the string toy.
Today we have no fun filled shots of our recent festivities, but a picture from the back garden which Äiti took on Christmas Day at sunrise.

Greetings King P, I was sure you and the rest of the perhe would see to comforting Äiti as we think she will take Tuomo's sudden departure the hardest. I think it is harder for the Humans to accept the ways of Nature than it is for us kitties, who live a bit closer to the earth and are more in tune with its cycles of birth and death. The Humans feel loss more keenly, I think, in their limited understanding of such things. We kitties have much to teach them with our purrings. I am glad you are caring so very well for her and from a distance I will join in the chorus of purrs to surround her with love. XOXOXO

In times of sadness, it is good to sit quietly together and to enjoy each other's presence(s). Tuomo's spirit will always be with you.

We here in Haukipudas are shocked to read about Tuomo leaving for the Bridge. Christmas came with sorrow this year...

Our old pal Ville, who passed away in April 2011, also had an over-active thyroid and ate pills every day. Then one day he suddenly just couldn't move any more. Otherwise he was ok, eating and being calm. Auntie took him to the vet who released him from sickness and suffering.

They are surely playing together there now, two tough boys, Tuomo and Ville <3.

We dont always unnerstand TBTs phrases sometimes, but one of his is that "when one door closes, another door opens". Doors arent our favrit things, so we are looking at your picture there and thinking of TBTs phrase in terms of sunsets and sunrises.

So we are thinkin "When the sun sets it always rises again". We are thinkin that Tuomo saw a sunrise the first time on a different part of his existence, that somewhere a new kitty was born at the sunrise, and that some kitty found a forever home with the sunrise.

We think Angel Tuo,o visited us today and gave Mommy a poke; she made extra time to spend with each of us.
You crew follow Stran's sterling example and give Äiti (and each other) extra love and cuddles. They do help.

Mum gave us extra hugs today. She played with us more and gave us treats in Tuomo's honour. All of our love to all of you.
