Shy Britboy Thursday

The shy Britboys are keeping warm and cosy. The other day Lewis-veli suffered the indignation of being grabbed and brushed. Äiti was very pleased that his fur was in great condition, and she also managed to wash his eyes. And she was very proud of him too, because he was big and brave and didn't have any 'accidents' as he has done when he is handled.
He's not forgiven her (he never does) but didn't dash away when he had his photo taken.
Harris-veli is more confident and each evening he appears in the ring of starving, meat hungry felines who benefit from a piece of Stran's raw treat. After he has his medicine he gets a strip of beef steak. And Harris has been big and brave and joins in with this. Along with Pekka, Ruska, and Aila.
It's the first time Harris has ever eaten from Äiti's hand. Just shows there's hope for all kitties!

Aw, we can't even be snarky about this! We are glad he is becoming more trusting. I was SUCH a feral, scared boy for SO long the Human didn't think she'd ever be able to touch me at all but after a long time, I did let her pet and brush me and purr and purr.

I am fine with contact as long as it doesn't involve PICKING ME UP (nononononononoooooooooooo) or placing me in a lap (nononononononononoooooo). Other than that, I'm pretty user-friendly now. I like to keep her a little off balance though, by changing up what is allowed from week to week. Heh heh.

I agree - there is ALWAYS hope for kitties, no matter how shy! Boodie was semi-feral when my human brought her home and cringed and hissed at any human who approached her. While she is not the most social kitty by any means - she usually mysteriously disappears when there is company - she loves to be petted and sleeps on the bed with the humans every night... in fact, last week, when the humans were away and the pet sitter was here, she even slept with the pet sitter! And you will never guess who loved the Magic Fish the most!

We are so glad to hear of Harris' progress! Those shy BritBoys clearly need a lot of tender loving car, even if at a distance!

Oh Lewis, what a wonderful boy! You've taken your first step...you actually let your Aiti take your photo! And what a beautiful boy you are! When ever you feel scared, we want you to know that all of us are behind you and are sending purrs of encouragement your way.
Harris! You actually ate from Aiti's hand! What a good boy! We're so proud of you! And it all gets easier from here, love. Kisses to all.
