Thursday Taste Bud Torment

This year we have loads of berries on the rowan  (pihlaja) trees.  This means that the stinky birds come and eat them.  We were glued to the kitchen window.
A flock of waxwings (tilhi) had descended yesterday. These are super confident with their feathery quiffs and multicoloured tails. Look at their cocky little faces as they gobble up the berries of Finland (North). We were drooling. All those berries will make fat little birdies which would be very tasty for us. Äiti went outside - we hoped she'd come back with some but all we got was photos. Never trust a birdwatcher.
And then those cheeky waxwings gave us the bottom of disrespect. Pah!
We need a plan of action. Operation Waxwing would be a very difficult challenge, what with the catio wires, locked doors and the fact they fly away very easily. Not to mention quite how upset Äiti would be. Perhaps we better go back on squirrel watch.

Oh, those are great pictures of birds. I love birdwatching.

Bird 'tocks are not as cute as cat 'tocks. That is for sure.

Yes, they do look delicious, but very scrawny. Those squirrel will have lots more meat on their evil haunches AND you have experience catching them! MOL!

Mmmmmm, they look DELICIOUS and I bet those berries make their meaty little bods nice and sweet, too. Mmmmmm.

Yes, I agree that whole "work" conference thing was just a flimsy excuse to go away to that pretty place and be footloose and Spitty-free. Well! I'll just have to show her. Claws at dawn?

What gorgeous feathers! They would be awesome to put on cat toys once the waxwing itself has served as dinner!

Well, a girl can dream, can't she?

Just wait untill the berries ferment, them the waxvings, and every othet birh who eats them gets drunk. Then You can catch them easily. My father got one in his hand last autum, he had to move it from a starecase so nobody would step on it. It was so drunk it just sat there.
