As you will know, loyal readers, I have no prejudices and am fair to all members of perheeni, and as today is Halloween, I thought I would celebrate our good pal Ruska, and black cats everywhere. Ruska is shy, and was a wee wild feral kitty from Muhos - like me but he had sisters. He doesn't like to be handled, but graces Äiti with occasional permission for a head rub. He does however eat from her hand when there's fresh raw beef in it! We all love Ruska as he's a great big fluffy panther.
He's smart, and masters those wicked 'interactive' treat dispensers.
He's helped many of us have our rightful snacks by giving them a whack for us.
He and I share mightily fluffy tails!
And Ruska's fur is gloriously shiny in the sun. He loves the sun on his luxurious fluffy body.
We cannot understand why anyone could think black cats are unlucky. Humans are so stupid: in the UK a black cat crossing your path is unlucky, or lucky , depending on whom you talk too. Humans are so inconsistent. And there are even some who don't see Halloween for the great commercial materialistic extravaganza it has become and maintain old misguided ideas of being mean to black kitties on the day. This is unspeakable in our view, as is any cruelty. We would happily zombify anyone who crossed our path and tried that with us - then they'd know what unlucky meant! So, keep everyone safe tonight and give special treats to all the handsome black cats you meet!

As a black cat myself, I thank you for your Majesty's wise message on this day. I was not certain that Finnish cats celebrated such crass commercial holidays, but perhaps vestiges of ancient lore (NOT involved ill-treatment of kitty kats, Kingly or otherwise!) litter the landscape of Kiimamaa, my ancestral lands...oh, wait, no they're not--my, uh, recently-acquired lands. With a$$es, or something. I gotta get over there and homestead that acreage.
Ruska is a very handsum fellow! Those shy mancats really are Mommy's thing. We can't imagine any wanting to hurt a kitteh, period. Mommy would kick their asterisks!

Our black home panther Musti totally agrees. Ruska is gorgeous! And interestingly also his fur is clearly very very dark brown in sunlight. Musti is exactly the same. And, as the matter of fact, so are black panthers who in truth have a very dark pigment but their spots can be seen in very bright light - Musti's stripes can also be seen in very good light. Not that there is any now.
Lots of raw beef to Ruska, I'd love to sent cuddles but since he's not into them...
Ruska is a very very VERY handsome mancat and a most worthy companion for anyone who would take the tie to give him reason to treust them. What a beautiful panther.
