Testing Tuesday

We continue with our helpful Finnish phrases for Äiti's language exam on Saturday. If we want to talk to Äiti about things that are a little difficult to discuss - for instance if we one of us has a few little specks of dirt on our bottom fur, and we need some help, such things are not easy. So we say in Finland 'nostaa kissa pöydälle' - it is time to put the cat on the table.
And as you can see, we are pretty good at doing this for ourselves.

Tuomolla näyttäisi olevan painavaa asiaa sanottavanaan! Teidän ryhmäkuvat ovat mahtavia.

Are you all EVER good at that!

I can tell you something funny 'bout Finnish lessons. Long, long ago... in a galaxy far, far away... when my peep #1 was a young girl of 9 or 10, she took Finnish lessons. Well, she wasn't very good at 'em. After all that, all she could do was count to ten or something, say yes and no in Finn and ask, "What is that?" Okay, here's the thing... when you ask someone, IN FINNISH, what something is, they're gonna answer in Finnish, right? Thing is, peep never knew what they were saying 'cause she didn't understand anything more than the aforementioned things. Silly peep.

PS. In case you're wondering who might be answering the peep in Finnish, her father & his parents spoke the language. In fact, his parents spoke only Finn... no English.

Maybe Aiti can practice Finnis for "The Quick Brown Fox Jumped over the lazy dog"". Oh wait, thats typing. But Is she typing her test? Mebbe it would help annyway.

Five of you in one pic! Mom can't get even the four of us in one. No, we don't think Aiti needs to learn this phrase at all. Seems to be you've put yourself there already!

I see you are doing a fine fine job. The Woman remembers that she had to edit an article that started out, what does Finish and learning acupuncture points have in common? I do not believe the article ever answered that, merely that the writer had been in Finland while learning acupuncture points!

I like the idea of putting the cat on the table - here in the States, we usually have to jump up there ourselves!

Öööö. Onneksi kissaperheissä niitä ei tarvitse nostaa, hyppivät sinne ihan itse :)

We count SIX of you! And we must inform Mommy that we need to emulate other cultures by being hoisted up to the table. We don't want to be naifs!
