It's the day of Äiti's dreaded test. We checked she was asleep every half hour or so by waking her up, so she should be well rested. We just hope our life will return to normal when she gets back as we are not impressed. Kissan viikset! Pah! (= the cat's whiskers).
Why this should be an expression of frustration or disappointment, we have no idea, as there is nothing frustrating or disappointing about a wonderful set of whiskers such as these belonging to Mirsku-veli.

I think cat's whiskers are awesome - somebody needs to correct the meaning of that saying.
I am convinced she will do well. Of course, with strange sayings like that, it's hard to say!
Looks like Mirsku's not stressed at all. We are all on "needles and pins" waiting to hear how it went. Have a great Sunday. XOXO
Ah, you look completely at one with your Aiti--I can see you are sharing her angst completely....NOT! Ha ha meow!
Well, you will be glad to know my Human is home for the weekend ready to do my bidding. I got my first present today already (some nice fresh kitty grass) and I expect others tomorrow! She has a LOT to make up for, my furiends, a LOT.
We wish your Mamam well in her Big Test (it's good for teachers to have to take tests once in awhile, eh?) We are keeping our paws cross for her XOXOXO
We're sure hoping that the test went well - you guys better be prepared to give her lots of cuddles if she isn't successful, and lots of cuddles if she is!
Lycka till! (Good luck!) We hope the test goes well, and that there are many questions on cat-related topics. :)
Yesterday's saying, the one about the cat and hot porridge, is also a Swedish saying, meaning "beat around the bush". We just think humans are strange - we completely share your view on porridge. Now, if it were steak from ren (poro) or älg (hirvi)...
Tsemppiä kokeeseen Äitille! Me ollaan varmoja, että läpi menee hujahtaen!
We have got our paws crossed for Aiti!
It should be all over but the screaming by now; we hope Äiti did well!
Your Majesty! We are on tenterhooks awaiting the report of Aiti's Terrible Test on Frightful Finnish!
I trust she has not collapsed in distress following her ordeal? Or perhaps gotten into the Royal Vodka??
Best Regards,
Spitty I, Bloodied but Unbowed
We know everything will go well with your Aiti. Tests are always unsettling even if one knows all of the material perfectly. You'll be sure she gets lots of love and kisses when she gets home.
