Wednesday woes

Loyal readers, I have dismal news to report. After hours and hours of watching, and fevered feathered anticipation, our little snack dispenser popped its load. And we were locked inside overnight when it happened. Pah!
Yesterday we were supervised on the catio, all day. How dare Äiti not trust us? She watched as varpunen-poika got braver. We watched as he trusted gravity more and more.
She caught its first wing flaps on camera.
And then the little coward went back inside for the rest of the day.
Except when its poor parents came along to feed it.
We were glued to the catio wire, glued to it.
And then at our supper time, Äiti played a mean trick and locked us in. When we galloped out this morning there was no nest box action - just loud cheeping from the trees in the garden. We have been watching still, we have been hopeful, but we think our chances have gone.
But Äiti says she can make up for it with me by giving me something that tweets away. I, of course, was eager and optimistic for a tasty little tapas treat, but this was another of her little 'jokes'. She has given me my own twitter account! I am pleased about this of course, but think that Äiti deserves a great big furball in her next bowl of ice cream for the bad puns. She is simply not funny.
So, loyal readers, please follow me @punapippuri on Twitter.  There's a follow widget on the top right of this blog but I am easy to find. King Kitty Cat of Finland (North) is at your service.

Not funny! We hope Aiti remembers to sleep with one eye open. MOL!

Bummer that you missed out on the tasty morsel, but at least I dashed right over and followed you on Twitter!

Humans can be cruel....

We have a Twitter account but it's been so long since we've been on it #1 has no idea what her password was...

I gotta say, that little birdie is a bit too cute to eat...

Good luck to the little varpunen/sparrow in his new life in the world outside! (Because I personally never chase any animals smaller than I am. But those bigger than me can get a scratch and a hiss : ).)

Ha! This cracked us up.

Very disappointing, though, that your hopes have been dashed. Humans often are so unkind to us!

Have fun on Twitter. Our human refuses to do FB or Twitter, sadly.

Man--it is too bad that you missed that morsel. While I am on Twitter, I rarely do anything on it.

What a disappointment! That has to be worth a hairball or two. We can't follow you on twitter as we don't have an account.

What a sweet little bird family! We know you're a great hunter, nothing to prove here. We'd rather have delicious treats than a birdie any time of day.
