Tuesday tree removal

This was the state of the top of the stairs this morning. As you can see, there's a bit of a lean to our old cat tree, and Risto is sat in the Stran-dunk. Risto and Roosa live in this area, except when they dash off to hide in the sauna.
Äiti would love them to explore more, and go outside, but they are a bit worried about some of the rest of us. Maybe Pekka and I chase them a bit. Maybe. Äiti feels bad for these two as they love cuddles and would really like it if they were the only cats around and didn't have to share her with the rest of us. Äiti cannot understand why Pekka and I like staring at them and spooking them out - maybe it is because Roosa is töpöhäntä and Risto is puolihäntä - they are manx cats.
Anyway, we were all rather shocked to suddenly find the cat trees were removed from their space. Look at this emptiness.
And, two hours later, a huge platform appeared, and then food bowls and the manxies came down to eat. They were there like a shot.
It is very strong - Mirsku can even stand on it. And it has beautiful boat lacquer on it so it should be peemail proof. There is a special barrier at the back which should prevent anyone skidding off the edge and falling downstairs.
Pekka was very curious but did not leap up. Maybe because Äiti was there!
The ninjas, who had supervised everything, were keenly watching. We would like to point out, it was not just Äiti who was supervising but she had a considerable amount of help - afterall it is simply not possible to lacquer anything here without our fur being adsorbed onto the surface.
And look at what's underneath: another Stran-dunk hoop nest. This will be a good watching position as it looks over the stairs.
Äiti is hoping that Risto and Roosa will like this new platform and maybe lounge on it. She wants to increase their area as much as possible, and also have a place where they both can eat. There's also potential for more nest bowls and bed areas. And she says maybe some cupboards for her to put stuff. As long as they are food cupboards we might allow that. Perhaps.
And what about the old cat trees - well, they got moved. more about those later!

Wow, your human is very creative! But then, being a servant to so many different personalities, I guess she has to be!

It looks great, brilliant idea.

We feel badly for Risto and Roosa too, though. It's not always good for some kitties, to be around so many others. Aiti is doing a wonderful job trying to help them!

Always such a delicate operation to make sure that everyone is as happy as they can be.

We hope you are happy with your fantastic new feeding station as we kitties really don't like change.
One thing you can be sure of: your Aiti will do everything in her power to make your life as wonderful as possible.
Our mum loves Manx cats! She loves their calm, intelligent, loving personalities. One of her "soul-mate" kitties was a Manx. She used to call him her little man from Mann. A lovely, lovely breed.
