Friday Friday Friday

Thank you all for the kind thoughts for Stran-veli. Yesterday he was much happier. Here he is slinking off under the bed. We do apologise for the floor fluff and dirt - we just cannot get the cleaning staff.
Now, we have mixed news and we need to make Äiti feel positive about this. First the Medrol must stop - it was not good for Stran. Äiti kind of knew this as his mood got worse as he had more of it.  His pancreas is good, which was worrying ystävämme eläinlääkäri a lot, so we are very pleased about this. But his kidneys are not so good, and he will now be on Fortekor.  Äiti's heart sank when she heard this, because of recent memories with Rilli and Monty, but she also knows that kidney levels can stay high with no problems for a very long time. And it is a very good thing that Stran's weight has been steady (5,3kg of fluff and muscle). So, there are many reasons to be cheerful, and provided his ripuli does not get worse he can carry on with the Trikozol and his yummy raw meat each day - he is very enthusiastic about that.  He will have more tests in a fortnight.
We love Stran-veli to bits and he had an awful start in life. Now we all live our lives to the full with him, and enjoy every single moment - as everyone should with their precious perhe.

Several of the cats who have gone before managed quite well with their elevated kidney values for some time. We hope that Stran does the same! He is certainly chilling out there!

Stran, we really do hope you will be one of those kitties who lies for many years in spite of elevated kidney numbers. Just keep eating well and take your medicines.

The OWCB, Ikkyu, was on Fortekor for quite a while after his kidneys started to deteriorate and did very well on it. We hope it will be the same for Stran-Veli. We know that he will get the best care possible with you.

Thanks for the fascinating information on Friday in Finnish. Who knows? We may make use of it at some stage!

Purrs,
The Chans

Stran, we will purr and pray that you'll do fine with those elevated kidney levels. We've known a number of cats who have done so. Hugs!

We love you and are praying for you, dear Stran!

The site Fuzzy Tales suggests is awesome. Very thorough so you can get a clear understanding of what is going on. We hope Stran's new medications make him feel better. Although CRF can't be cured, it can be managed allowing the kitty to have excellent quality of life. Love to all.

We are sending purrs for Stran. Our mum has had several kitties who came before us who had CRF and all lived for many years with it on medication. Two sisters lived to 23 and 24 years old.
