Watch Out Wednesday

Ruska takes mousewatch very seriously. Afterall, last year, he was one of the mighty mousers, responsible for the famous red snow incident. This year we have had no success, but he is optimistic.
He has full focus on his task and is unaware of the chaos about to ensue.
Even now he is not expecting the missile which we also know as Pekka-poika.
This is not fair - our mighty hunter is having his concentration wrecked.
Ruska is a gentle soul and will not retaliate against the thundering, tactless farmboy.
He simply politely steps away from the snowpile and will have to wait until it all calms down again.
Ruska was of course Rilli-ukko's biggest fan and we are pleased to report that he seems to be coping quite well. He is buddying up with Harris-veli, which is wonderful as Harris is also very gentle and would hurt no one. Ruska is twice his size though  - which does mean that some of us are nervous of him. Ruska loves sitting outside, and we are very pleased that the weather is warm enough for him to do so now for a few hours a day. Now all he needs is for those mousies to show up.

When a loved one leaves, it is always a worry as to how those closest will cope. We're glad Ruska is finding comfort and companionship with Harris.

Wonderful action shots, as always. We love that Ruska is a gentle giant and are glad he's pairing up with Harris-veli now, for company and perhaps comfort.

Keep on Ruska, mousies are somewhere out there. You have to be patient.

And after all, in the footprints of Rilli-Ukko will be very safe to walk about. Be brave and ask tips from PPP! He will know everything you need.
