Thursday Tar

We like it when Äiti has visitors. She gets so nervous whenever I walk in the kitchen and strut across the table, pointing my bottom to towards the window, hehe. But I have been well behaved and did not produce peemails when we had visitors the other day.
We were allowed to try the food.
 Pekka-poika loved the pulla.
And here Rilli-ukko watches as Stran-veli slurped at another Finnish delicacy, the ice cream. We have excellent ice cream in Finland - this is particularly yummy as it is tar flavoured. Yes, this is totally true.  Tar, which traditionally was produced from pine trees. And even Äiti thinks it is delicious.
Tomorrow Stran-veli is having an operation on some teeth. I know Äiti is worried about this as he is an older kitty and there are always dangers. We have our paws firmly crossed all goes well, and we have promised him lots of ice cream to help him heal up.

I am sending some of my best purrs to Stran to help see him through his procedure. I think ice cream will be a great treat to help him feel better!

Purrs for Stran-veli's dental op, we'll look for an update.

But tar flavoured ice cream? Tar? We think of coal tar when you write "tar." Or the stuff they pave roads with. LOL. But you mean pine sap ice cream, yes?....Hmmm, okay, our mom would try it. Not sure we would, though!

No, we mean tar. The stuff you put on boats to stop them sinking, or on roads. It smells just like coal tar. But it is surprisingly tasty too (but even Äiti could not eat a whole road).

Thank you for telling us about the surgery! We would have felt very sad if we were unable to offer prayers for one of our favourite cats. The wise and wonderful Stran is very special to us. We pray for his safe surgery and a comfortable recovery. Mum always arranges for the vet to give us a long acting pain shot just before we leave the office. That way she doesnt have to touch our sore mouths so soon after surgery when are are all zooie from the residual anesthesia.
Kisses and hugs to our darling Stran. We love you sweetheart.
Tar? Lots of nasty chemicals in there. Is it really tar or more a type of licorice taste?

We're purring for Stran-veli and wish you all plenty of ice-cream!

Lots of nasty chemicals in coal tar. Pine tar is fairly clean in that sense.

We are sending lots of purrs for Stran-veli that his dental work and anaesthetic goes well. The tar ice cream doesn't appeal to our mum. We probably would turn our noses up at it as well.
