Pissaa perjantaina

Loyal readers, share my rage! I was wandering around my kingdom, sniffing and strutting and fluffing, and decided it was time for a little peemailing. I sprayed forth a mighty golden shower and heard the inevitable protest from Äiti, which stopped halfway through. Confused, I stood firm with tail swaying like a fine Finnish flag in a stiff breeze, as she dashed to get a syringe! After a month of waiting and failing to monitor my bladder emptyings, she finally managed to get 'a sample'.  She sucked up the amber liquid and managed to get - wait for it - a whole millilitre!  This was duly taken to ystävämme eläinlääkäri the next day - having been first hidden in the fridge at her work. Personally I find it outrageous that she dares take the royal pissa but she says that she still wants to get it checked. I had been enjoying outwitting her and producing such a fine spray that there was no way she could rescue any of it, but in  moment of weakness I got caught out. I shall learn from this and make sure my future distributions are more dispersed...........

We hope the V-E-T doesn't find anything! Mebbe the peemailing is just a matter of catitude. What's the fine fur stealing royal pee?

From all my recent reading, crystals can form if the sample is delayed in its testing, so if something *does* show up, it does NOT mean you have crystals (if Aiti is concerned about that). The most accurate way to get a sample is via needle (by the vet, of course) and then have it tested right away.

Definitely a power struggle going on between you and Aiti.

Did you have the chance to develop the spraying habit before you were "fixed"? mom understands that is the reason to do the fixing when a male cat is pretty young.

That Aiti! She's good. Excellent job! We hope all is well with your urinalysis. No crystals, please!
We'll keep you in our prayers, sweetheart. Regards to all the family and special love to you.

Puna, we should form a club (or maybe a gang) and we could threaten to spray if we don't get kibbles! Or just pee for fun...

We hope the tests come back with good results. We think it's very yucky that you leave pee-mails! Girlcats NEVER do such things!

It just goes to show that you always have to be on your guard. Mums are sneaky like that.
