Loyal readers, as you know today is Livestrong Day across the blogoshpere. And we honour those who livestrong against cancer and the grief that it brings as this evil illness destroys lives.
I am incredibly lucky to have not been affected in it in perheeni, but know plenty who have been. Also Äiti lost her mother to it many years ago. And we know so very many of our friends have been robbed of those they love by it.
We honour them by going yellow.

Ruska is shy with his yellowing.
Stran-veli is reflective. He has seen more than most of us.
Mirsku-veli takes it a step too far......
And Äiti says yellow is great, provided it's not peemails everywhere.

Health update: Jaava-ninja is resuming her butterball activities. She spent time yesterday asleep with Äiti (when I should have been nuzzled against Äiti - never let it be said I am not kind and selfless). And then she was chasing Jura-ninja around. She was in and out of the catio all day even though it was not very warm. And she was wrecking the curtains too. So we think she is getting back to normal. And Rilli-ukko's eyes are much clearer and he has been eating heartily.  Äiti thinks we are getting back to normal and now she has been in bed with a bit of a wimpy cold and fever. Honestly, she has no sisu. We thank you, loyal readers for your comments on l-lysine and we will be googling the most expensive foods containing it and ordering Äiti to supply them for us.

MOL at Mirsku! I'm happy to hear that Jaava is so much better, and Rilli too. Your human? She does need a touch more sisu to keep up with you all!

We're glad you've gone yellow for LiveStrong, great post!

The L-Lysine should be available in a health supplement/vitamin store...We're not aware of foods that have it. Here it comes in a hard tablet (that would have to be crushed) or the gel capsules that can be opened up, so the Lysine can easily be sprinkled into canned food.

What a understanding vet you have!
One of us used to be given L- lysine powder available through a veterinary supply. It was sprinkled on the wet food. Ours was called Viralys, mum thinks.

Thank you for your lovely post. Our bean family has been affected by various cancers that claimed several lives. Four of our kitty family members have lost their lives to this horrible disease. We must find the way to stop this killer in it's tracks!
Live Strong! God bless!
