Black Cat Awareness Day

We want to support UK  Cats protection Black Cat Awareness Day.  Äiti knows from her experiences in England that black cats find it harder to get homes, and are often 'overlooked'. This is not good. And we wish to show just how beautiful black cats can be  with a display of our very own Ruska.
Äiti says it is really hard to photograph black cats as the light is so hard to get right. She still thinks she hasn't got the perfect photo to show his sparkling eyes.
But here you can see his greedy-for-kissanminttu eyes!
And now maybe they are wild-with-kissanminttu.
Ruska is very shy - sometimes Äiti can touch him and even tickle his chin. But it is on his terms (and usually involves food).
 This is from last summer.
He is called Ruska as some brown parts do appear when his fur grows long and thick. In Finland 'ruska' is the autumn colours of leaves in the forests.
He's quite a happy mancat here!
And we like this picture of him leaping through the snow. Last year he triumphantly caught a mouse which was under the snow!

Ruska is a handsome, giant mancat. I am very proud to have him in perheeni.

We have a beautiful (and he knows it) black cat in my house too. Girl is always taking pictures of him but none of them really show how beautiful he is. Aiti's pictures look wonderful!
