Buddy Sunday

We have a few photos of how our friendships are developing with the Burmese butterball ninja mosquitoes. Äiti says it is surprisingly hard to get such evidence as they are running around so often, and whenever they do settle, she is too exhausted to get the camera!
Pekka-poika is proving to be an excellent buddy. Here, he and Jaava-ninja are birdwatching.
And he is making sure she really is very clean.
And here I am sleeping peacefully by my little sister. I know, I am the handsome one hiding under the blanket. But we were like that for two hours.
Whoops - how did this picture get in ?
Maybe just because they are so bouncy most of the time!
Anyway, Jaava & Jura tend to sleep together, usually in beds which are high up. They have their favourite places, and one is the bed at night when Äiti is in it. Usually I sleep there too, and Pekka and Tuomo and Mirsku sometimes. Tuomo is sleeping in different places at the moment as he gets used to his tablets. He is still very growly when anyone comes near but he is not lashing out with his claws as much.
Aila, Roosa and Risto like to be near the kittens but not too close - they hiss with a warning sign. But they do not mind sharing the stair shelves with them. Ruska is a bit scared of them but we can tell he wants to play. He has been a really excellent boy and Äiti is so proud of him because he let her comb his back while he was eating. She got a huge ball of fluff from him but he had no bad tangles.
Rilli-ukko can be near the kittens and gives little sniffs, and he has even let Jaava sleep near him - but then he will hiss loudly and they move away.
This video was taken a couple of weeks ago. Harris-veli is a big surprise to us -he loves to play with the kittens when he feels relaxed enough. And yesterday Äiti was watching Lewis-veli play chase with them. She has never seen him so relaxed and with such a fluffy tail. She didn't dare move to get a better view, or to get the camera as he is so self-conscious he would have stopped. Maybe one day we'll get a photo....
So, all is well in my kingdom. Yesterday I snuggled with Äiti as much as I could and there were no peemails. She is wondering if I am feeling a little bit ill and watching me closely. Yesterday evening I played with Mirsku, and she knows anyone who does that must be feeling ok!
We are all not so happy that it is soon time for Äiti to go back to work a the summer holidays are ending and we will be home alone. This always takes a bit of adjustment, and a lot of protests and sulking. And that's just from Äiti.

Kittens can have a wonderful effect o shy kitties! Our own Sei-Chan loves to play with Genji! And as far as we are concerned, amy excuse for a snuggle is a good excuse!

We love the update on everyone. How very special that the kittens are bringing out the older, shyer boys! (shier? Neither spelling seems correct.) Schools start up here this week and next week. Our mom feels a little sorry for the poor kids stuck on the un-air conditioned school buses, but hopefully it'll cool off soon. We're sorry your Aiti has to go back to school, though - we know you'll miss her terribly!
