So hot Saturday

It is already 35'C on the catio, and it's not even midday! Kitties, this is something we Finncats are not used to. Off course we love the sauna which is much hotter but that's because we can go and roll in the snow afterwards. If we wanted - and we don't. No, this is all round heat making us tired and inactive. Mirsku-veli and I attempted a rasslin' match last night and we just flopped in exhaustion (after I had won of course).
We have been trying to find the coolest positions. For Mirsku-veli this inevitably means exposing his vast expanse to the sky.
I try to quietly sleep in a shady corner.
Lewis-veli chose a sunny plant pot. This is now a very popular place after Äiti put new soil in it.
Tuomo-veli tries to look sweet and innocent behind some flowers.
And Pekka-poika puts his paw pads to towards the sky.
But keeps one eye open in order to monitor the action.
But there won't be any action - not until this weather cools, or Äiti brings us loads of nice cool juicy food. She is giving us more wet food now, and making sure we have enough water.
I know that some of you, loyal readers, live in places where the temperatures are millions of those fahrenheit thingies and what we have here in Finland (North) is not particularly hot. But for us Finncats it's plenty warm enough and we long for a fresh breeze from the lake.

35C is way too hot, guys. We've had high 20s to low 30s away from Lake Ontario, plus the typical humidity factor added in. The best thing you can do is just snooze in the coolest spots available. Sad to say (in our mom's view) the cool/cold weather will return all too soon!

How extraordinary! The temperature here, well south of you, is half of yours!!!

Thank you for your good wishes for our new brother. We can't wait to meet him!

"Vast Expanse"!!!

Mommy has been seeing many of those here as well. Not only are we plagued with millions of farenheits but the humidity has rolled in with monsoon season. It's criminal, but we've deserted her bed at night to go frolic outdoors when it's finally cool!

We are one of those kitty families that live in the bazillion degree weather. But you know what? Weather tolerance goes both ways! We absolutely couldn't tolerate snowy ground on our feet! Oh no, no chilly weather for us. We won't go outside on our catio for any period of time if the temperature is below 18C/65F! And at 65 we want to cuddle into blankets!

Oh man, we're terribly sorry to hear you're dealing with this stupid heat, too. For us, this is just barely over normal (we normally have a few days this hot, but not for this long of a period), so we have the means to deal with it (central air conditioning). We cannot imagine how horrible it must be for you all. 35' C is miserable. We hope it cools down for all of us VERY soon.
