We're all a bit nipped-out after our celebrations yesterday, and Äiti is particularly not awake after Mirsku-veli discovered the joys of nighttime cuddles. Well, we do not have night here at the moment (the sun does set but only for a couple of hours) so it is not dark. This messes with her sleep pattern (I do feel sorry for humans sometimes). Tuomo-veli further disrupts it by head butting her (with a wet nose) for tummy tickles every three hours and today Mirsku-veli discovered that nipping her arm was very effective in getting attention - hehehe. I have always used the toe bite myself. Soon we will really have her becoming a nervous, sleep-deprived wreck. (Äiti's note - soon you will find yourselves locked out of the bedroom...)
And I have been celebrating another great occasion - my royal friend Mr Puddy has nominated me to answer some very important questions for 'Meow Meow Me Me'. I am truly honoured. And truly fed up that Äiti hasn't sorted the essential photos for this. This will be rectified soon.....
As you can see from the photos we have continued to play with the box. I still reign supreme, of course. And some of you asked about Tessie-kilpikonna. She is over forty five years old as that is how long she has been in Äiti's family; she is older than Äiti (haha!). She is not afraid of us and loves sitting with us. When she arrived to live with perheeni (before I was there, back in England) Harris-veli used to lie next to her for hours. And when Mirsku-veli arrived here Tessie-kilpikonna was sat at the bottom of the stairs. Mirsku-veli was scared to come down them as he didn't know what this moving rock thing was at the bottom. It took him two days. My how I laughed at that. Oh, and as pikku pentu, I used to sit on Tessie's shell and ask her to move around. She didn't though and I had to get off.
And speaking of pikku pentu, Äiti went to visit the kittens at Kissmollin again. We think we should move house and go there ourselves, then we might get some attention. However she says the kittens are incredibly sweet and fun and gorgeous. Here is Jura, with his modesty covered (we were wondering if somehow Mirsku-veli has been giving him lessons in posing - this kitty is going to be a big boy!). Stran-veli has been looking at his world map carefully and announced that Jura is an island off Scotland. Just like Harris, Lewis and Islay (pronounced Aila) are. I wonder why he has this sudden interest in geography. Stran-veli is wise but maybe he is getting a little random in his old age.

Good action shots! Our mom feels much sympathy for your Aiti - she knows how much sleep 1 bad cat can cause her to lose. Also, we didn't realize this was the time where you had no darkness - that would make things terribly tough. At least school is out soon!

If Mirksu is anything like Johnny, we know there is no resisting him if he wants cuddles. Mommy is grateful that John sleeps with Daddy most nights.
We are amazed at Tessie's age! Does she keep growing all her life, and what special foods does she eat? Turtle Chow? Inquiring Cats want to know.

Oh Puna! We love the photo of your little feeties in the air as you explore the box. They're so cute. Kitty pawsies are one of the most adorable things ever.
Tessie is 45! Goodness. Your mum must really must know how to take care of her. How long can she live? We just laughed and laughed when you said Mirsku was afraid of her and laughed harder whe we thought of Harris laying next to her. Obviously, she is a very charming tortoise. We are getting a feeling that darling Jura may get a chance to know Tessie too! Yes?
All of you must learn that a well rested Aiti is a happier Aiti. And happy Aitis play more and are more generous with treaties!
