We have seen this happen before... Äiti leaves us saying 'just off to Raahen eläinkoti' and then we know she'll be back with a basket. This time she returned with .....Pekka.
Pekka is about two years old, and very friendly to people. He has lived wild over winter in a cottage in Vihanti (about 65km from Oulu and where it has been very cold) and had been taken to eläinkoti three weeks ago.
I have only had a sniff from a distance, as he is in the bedroom with Lewis-veli. He has been sniffing all the mancat messages, and in the photo is not being naughty and making new ones. He is a handsome ginger boy like me, but I will of course be the most handsome in perheeni.
Stran-veli was the first to have a close sniff, and then followed him into the sauna for a mancat chat.
There was no hissing and all was amicable. Quite how it will be with the others, I cannot predict.
Now most people will think Äiti is absolutely mad. We now have a family of 12. She has said that 11 felt odd, and also she believes that a new cat might take the pressure off the newkits, Risto and Roosa as they won't be new anymore.
We shall see. In the meantime, I am going to welcome Pekka to perheeni - provided I still get my fair share of tickles and snuggles of course.

Aiti has teetered over the edge of crazy cat lady-dom. Welcome! It's quite nice here and we're all very friendly, if covered in fur and a wee (pun intended) bit disheveled.

Hello Pekka! You've landed in a great home.

Congratulations on your new brother!
Welcome Pekka! You are one very lucky kitty to have found such a loving home and wonderful mum. You are going to have the very best life! Have you seen that pile of toys yet? And treats! Lots of treats! God bless your mum for adopting you. We are a large family of cats too. Mum adopts handicapped or elderly kitties. The oldest, at time of adoption, was 21. We agree with your mum about less pressure.
When ever anyone says something about crazy cat lady to mum, she says " I only wish. It would be too good to be true". Our special love to all.
