Voi voi - oh dear. That quiz has fooled some of you. I am most disappointed but Stran-veli is very pleased that you think he has such an excellent set of teeth as in fact he is very short of fangs.
The correct answers:
Number 1 - the nose: Aila
Number 2 - the claw - Harris
Number 3 - the teeth - Mirsku
Number 4 - the tail tip - Rilli
Number 5 - the claw #2 - Roosa
Number 6 - the pawfluff - Punapippuri
So we have to congratulate the OK Cats who got it right - very well done to the girlcats there. And of course Maggie May correctly identified my pawfluff.
We have had a very busy day with two visitors. I have been very well-behaved but Tuomo-veli has been really naughty, and unable to look Äiti in the eye. There was a loud screech from upstairs and soon after a very guilty Tuomo-veli came downstairs, acting all innocent (of course). Äiti went upstairs to find a stinky deposit on the floor and a very upset Risto who was responsible for the mess. Then Äiti - usually a fairly intelligent human - realised that she must provide a litter tray with no cover, as Tuomo is being a toilet-bully-monster and this could be the reason why there has been stinking outside the box. She says she will go out tomorrow to get us some extra-large trays with 360' vision.
Also, last night in the middle of a bedtime snuggle, Tuomo sat up and began enthusiastically tail-thumping - watching Lewis-veli doing his business. Äiti prevented a challenge on exit and Lewis escaped unhurt and with dignity intact. Now Tuomo is slipping down our hierarchy, he has to take his opportunities for mischief when he can, but this is a bit mean on the rest of us. Do any of you have any suggestions as to how we can keep him under control ?

Ooo, that is tough if one cat is using the litterbox as a way to bully the others. Hope it sorts out when you get another box. Mom read one time that humans should provide 1 more litterbox than the number of cats, which sounds like a lot, but might be the solution if there is a power struggle going on.

Happy New Year!

Thank you Simba - Äiti thinks we have enough boxes. She just cannot stop Tuomo-veli's joyful face when he sees a vicitim use any of them!

Flynn creeps up behind me and pounces on me when I poop outdoors. He doesn't do it when I am in the litterbox.

By the time we saw your last post, there were already many entries, so we did not make any guesses, except that we did know the first and last right off the bat!

We only have open litterboxes here and they do work quite well. In terms of making Tuomo less eager to cause trouble, the only thing we can think of is Zylkene,

We of course have our big swimming pools, but we also have used large clear plastic storage containers that have the really high sides. If Aiti places it strategically there will be more exit options. Maybe a vigorous play session before bed with Tuomo might wear him out and reassure him a little. Good luck! We are more into territorial spraying, ourselves.

Note from Mommy: *sigh*

Yay, we guessed right! We were pretty sure on all of them except for claw #1. We think you're on the right track with an open litter box. A Toilet-bully-monster sounds horrible! As we've never had more than 3 cats at one time, we're just reading and learning on how to handle the dynamics of a larger cat family and the intricacies of your hierarchy.
