I am touched deeply by the concern of my loyal followers who noticed I had not blogged for a few days. I have pointed this out to Äiti and shaken the paw of shame at her as she is to blame for this lack of communication. I am indeed well, but severely bored and understimulated. I announced my disgust by smiling sweetly at Äiti and producing a spray of stinky wee all over the kitchen curtains when she finally turned up after a longer day at work. I cannot understand why she was so annoyed with me.
My friends at Pouponette Central have asked if they can call me Puna. Well, I have no objection to this, as I do understand Punapippuri is a bit of a mouthful. Punapippuri means 'red pepper' When Äiti chose my name she was new to Finland and did not know many Finnish cat names, and her pronunciation was terrible so she decided to name me after something she did know. After a day or so she decided I was quite a hot little character (hehehe) so Punapippuri was good for me. Puna is short for red; Pikku in the blog means little, but of course I am not little now but sometimes she calls me 'Pikku Punainen' (little red). I also get called 'Puu' which means tree and I am not so sure about that. And when she is being very English I am 'Pipsqueak' or 'Pipster' neither of which is very suitable for a King so I usually ignore those.

Your Majesty! We would never dream of calling you JUST "Puna"! It would be "Puna-Chan" if you feel comfortable with our own suffix, or perhaps "Puna-Chama" which is the suffix children use for their grandparents in Japan. It combines both great respect and much love!

Puna...PUMA, I say!! You are a regal dude...puna is like puma and I think they are great cats. Either way, we like the story behind your name...very cool....or should I say hot!! Your mom could have called you Habenera (that really hot chilli). At least you didn't get called Lautrec because Toulouse sounds like 'Tu louche' (French, to say 'you are cross-eyed') which is how I got my name...because I'm cross-eyed and saying that sounds a bit like Toulouse as in Henri de Toulouse Lautrec that they decided to call me Lautrec. Not nearly as exciting or romantic and dramatic as your name!! But in the end I can laugh because in Czech a word that sounds similar to Lautrec is 'Lotr' which means something like 'trouble-maker'. I have to say that I am not such a big 'lotr' as you...I don't think I would dare spray the kitchen curtains...you are a very brave puma!! Hey, we are, until tomorrow, at our house in the city, but our neighbors at our country house - where we go tomorrow - told us we have received a package from Finland...could that possibly be from you??? Are you our Secret Paws???? We are sooo excited!!! Purrs, Lautrec, Tiny and the real lotr, Ellwood

Dear Blogsters,

i do not mind Puna, Puna-Chan but maybe I am abit young for Puna-Chama; Rilli is Rilli-ukko which is like chama, and he is 16 years old! We respect him. I like Puma, because we already have a panther here with Ruska, and we are good Finncat brothers I think.
And 'Lotr' = trouble-maker is good - better than being named after someone squitty eyed! I shall spray urine in disgust for you there my feline friend.
And as for a parcel from Finland, hehehehe, the Real Santa lives in Finland so you never know who the parcel comes from.

Yo ho ho.

You have to keep those humans in line. Getting home late is unacceptable!

Spraying whizz is just the BEST way to express yourself! Mommy says she'd like to do the same sometimes...except there's the whole exposure and aim issue to overcome...
We think we would like to call you "Puu"; in Hawaiian it would be pronounced P'oo-oo, and that's a beautiful area. We need to have choices and vote on a nickname! Of course Maggie May would get TWO votes...
