Well, Äiti says she has done something crazy and mad and we sort of agree but we are open-minded, caring kittizens so we support the addition of....Ruska! Ruska is one of the Muhos gang whose human died a month or so ago. He has always been a bit wild, and doesn't really like people (Äiti can relate to this!). Anyway, finding a new forever home for him was always going to be a challenge and his temporary home was not working; despite some lovely humans he was just really scared. A decision was made which kept Äiti and her friends awake at night, and it was to be the horrible final injection. No one was happy with this but very sadly here in Finland wilder cats who cannot fit into human homes, cannot be left to be 'feral' as in winter they would freeze to death, and this (in particular for a long haired cat) is a terrible, terrible end. But yesterday Äiti realised that Harris-veli and Lewis-veli are both very scared , and do not really like people - would it be possible that Ruska could fit in here like them ? He can just hide out in the sauna, or on the catio and have a quite life. After all, Äiti does not have riotous parties and she is happy if we do not all want attention and cuddles - provided we are happy. So, we do not know if it will work, but we will try. Please keep your paws crossed for us. Äiti is happy as she wants to at least try to help Ruska have a life, and now he is with Rilli, Risto and Roosa who were his pals in Muhos. However they are ignoring him right now as he is very sleepy: he had a shave and his vaccination as Äiti has no idea when she can next touch him and his fur gets very tangled. His photo is not very flattering either, but we don't mind. Tervetuloa!
'Ruska' means the autumn colours we have here in Finland. And Äiti would be out taking photos of it now if the weather was not so bad (it is very soggy!)- but instead she is preparing for winter and she has put up the tarpaulin over some of the catio human junk! Last year when I came out I used to hide under it but now she seems to have secured it all, and the Rock of Norway is in the way (behind the broom). The Rock of Norway is a special souvenir which she brought back from a Lapland trip. She liked the colour of this green marble so much she forced her friends to carry it to the car and smuggled it back home. I quite like standing on it. But here I am standing on top of Tessie-kilpikonna's house (which she never uses) from where I can inspect my kingdom.

We will keep all our paws crossed that Ruska wil find comfort and happiness with all of you, and become less scared as time goes by.

Thank you for your sweet comment on our blog. We really appreciate the concern and the support.

We have our paws crossed for Ruska. Surely among ten other Cats he'll be able to find a buddy.

Mommy says one more and Aiti will be a nutty as her!
