Today I dedicate my blogspace to the grand cats of perheeni - Stran-veli and Rilli-ukko. They are both wonderful role models for me, and full of fun and spirit too. Äiti does worry about them as they are quite old, and Rilli-ukko has poorly kidneys. She checks carefully how much he eats, and has ordered special foods and medicines for him. He, of course, will not eat the food if she has spent lots of money on it, but often with a little talking and tickling he can be persuaded to have a few more bites. His appetite is pretty good, and Äiti is pleased that he is not drinking much because that means his kidneys are working fairly well. He will have more tests next week on his precious blood.
We don't know how old Stran-veli is, but he is vulnerable to bacteria and viruses, but this does not stop him chasing Risto onto the balcony at 2am. Äiti wishes Stran would take it easy as it would help his acne (he has a spotty chin!), but she's pleased to see him rush around like a kitten. He has a very healthy appetite - anywhere, anytime and any food. And he's my best buddy too.

What a lovely post. It's a good thing to respect one's elders! We hope that both of them continue to eat well and stay with you for many years.

They are both SO gorgeous and even though they're a bit older then the rest...it's still good to be a kitten at heart!

That was very noble of you to pay tribute to your seniors. As a senior lady myself, it's nice to have a little respect now and then. But, it's also nice to have a younger friend around, for when we feel like playing chase.
