We got an award! Many thanks to the Katnip Lounge for this award. Their blog is amazing and we step by every update, watching for adventures of the kitties who try to stay cool and catch lizards and generally rule the place with paws of soft iron. So thank you - I like the award very much except it is for Äiti to say 7 things about herself, and it's not really for me. So I will compromise, and say seven things about her instead.......

1. Äiti is English but is trying very hard (so she says) to learn Finnish. I do like being told I am 'komea poika' in my mother tongue, and 'fiksu kissa' is also welcome - but I think she could try harder as sometimes I would like to discuss important things like having more ahven.

2. She does like animals - she grew up with birds and tortoises, and then kept salamanders, terrapins and frogs, before finally letting herself have furry things.....

3....and now she has 10 of us! She's a bit of an addict.....

4. Äiti should eat a special diet to lose weight and lower nasty cholesterol: this does now mean that our food in her shopping trolley is costing more than hers each week!

5. She teaches human children all about physics and chemistry and lets us teach her everything else.

6. She has nice feet (in my opinion). I love snuggling against them and ocassionally get brave enough to pull her toe hairs - then she has this silly reflex kicking action when she's asleep.

7. There may be 10 of us now but she does try to give us the attention we want as individuals. She's working hard with us all. But I still pretend to her that I think she can do more.

And we would like to pass on this Versatile Blogger award on to the Creek Cats (including Maggie May).

And as for what's been happening here - well typing is getting hard as Rilli has just walked over the keyboard. Tuomo dashed into the Office when he saw the door was a nanometre open, and has sniffed noses with him and there was no conflict - maybe two elderly Finnish gentlecats (?) have a lot in common and Rilli is saving all the hiss and spit for us youngsters ? Risto and Roosa are exploring more and are sat on the balcony looking out over my kingdom.

And I was a very good boy - I just slept quietly in the middle of the bed last night and didn't play dare games with Aila-sisko at all. My apologies that there are no photographs today - Äiti is changing her computers around and I have to become literate in apple macs before I can get the pictures. This will not take so long for a fiksu kissa like me.....

LOL & MOL! CC nibbles on Daddy's feet and trims his toe hairs too! You must be soul mates.

We enjoyed learning about your Aiti very much. (Mommy needs to learn how to make an umlat over the "I"!) She must be very smart, teaching science in a foreign language! Our Mommy had Latin and German, but doesn't remember very much of either. How did she end up in Finland, we wonder?

Hurrah for nosetaps and happy new kitties! Maybe you will all be playing and cuddling--soon!

Haha! Äiti isn't smart at all as she teaches in English and is very very lucky with her job as her Finnish is 'tosi kaka' (=really poo). We cats are far more bilingual than she is - and we can even manage a bit of Swedish. Our food packs say 'felix' in English, 'latz' in Finnish and 'pussi' in Swedish - that's all we need.

And don't worry about the two dots - we have a special keyboard that includes Å too :)

ANd Äiti really isn't smart at all as there's at least two furballs of mine she hasn't found yet.....
